DEAR CREATIVE WRITERS
  runawaytoday

07:51pm 21/06/2006
  hey, ALL ASFA creative writers
you might not know me, but you might remember, i dunno
MY NAME IS TONY
im the moderator of this blog
and also ASFA alumni 2004

AnYWAYS, im specifically calling upon ASFA creative writers, because i WANT YOU GUYS TO find out some INFORMATION for me, about WHERE the C.W. department has their CADENCE printed, and HOW MUCH is usually costs to have a normal cadence printed. FIND OUT THIS INFO

WHY: i wrote a novel, and want to independently publish it. money is no object, as i have a backer.
anyways publishing this book through the same place that ASFA publishes the cadence can't be more than 20,000 dollars, right?

ANYWAYS: ALL ASFA CREATIVE WRITERS PAST AND PRESENT, if you have ANY INFO on this PLEASE GIVE IT TO ME

I think asfa has their cadence published by EBSCO industries, i need a contact, and also an estimate. LIE CHEAT AND KILL FOR THIS INFORMATION.

thanks
tony

I already posted this in my lj, but here's the news for those who don't read that:

I was at ASFA today for Scholars Bowl stuff, and I found out that Mr. Gordon will not be coming back to ASFA next year.  He will be teaching at Vestavia Hills High School.  Here's the vacancy notice:  http://www.asfa.k12.al.us/Employment/default.aspx.  Best wishes to him.  ASFA is losing a really great teacher.

The Underground

12:27am 13/05/2006
I'm thinking about giving up on the Underground. I got a bit discouraged after coffee house actually happened and I've had a fair amount of friction with the administration and so I'm a bit tired of trying to make it happen. Plus I don't know if anybody wants to try and do it over the summer anyway, which would be the only time it could occur. I'll still try and get it off the ground if there are enough people who would want me to do it. But if not then I'm just gonna give up and work on other things that are important in my life, like getting a job.(if anyone knows of a place that would be super helpful)

The Underground
  silverstrata

06:59am 31/03/2006
Ok, so before springbreak I had a talk with Briding about using the bank building across the street as a location for the Underground. However, the only problem with it, is that there is a lot of stuff in the building, because of the Bizarre Bazaar and the school is using it for storage. So she said she is going to try and get some charity places to come and take some of the stuff. Also, we would need a few adults to chaperone. I think we would also have to get the fire marshall there to check everything out and let us know of all the safety things that would have to be done, etc. Thats all peachy and it is doable, but the building wouldn't be ready for us to rock out in until sometime in may or over the summer probably. However, if anyone has any ideas of a good place to host it that would be cheap or free then that would be fantastic and I could get the Underground going quicker.

All right boys and girls...
  silverstrata

11:44pm 28/02/2006
I put up posters about Art Underground. I know they look ghetto, but they've been approved as have everthing that I'm trying to do. I'm about 90% sure that I can get a PA, if not then I can probably just mess around with some amps and get a similar effect. So now I just need people to start booking and/or vollunteering with labor to help set up or to vollunteer some amps or something. I'm gonna assume that at least one of the bands that will want to play will have amps that they would be willing to share or a drumset they'd be willing to share.

Anyway here is a list of everything that needs to be done in the approximate order that it needs to be done in:

*advertise like crazy
*Book people to play/show art/whatever
*Get all equipment necessary, amps/drumset?/lighting?/whatever else
*settle on a date and time which will depend on a lot of factors including the location
*choose final location (i have a place in mind, but don't know if it will be the location yet)
*advertise like crazy

ps. I'd really like to have some sort of street art competition/showing. This would basically involve people showcasing their graffiti skills on a large piece of plywood in a set amount of time. This would double as gallery art and performance art. Yipee. There would likely be an entrance fee to pay for the plywood and everyone would have to bring their own supplies. So anyone interested in that be sure and email me.

Alright so I've done a lot of the work here and right now I'm depending almost entirely on you guys. So please PLEASE please email me and let me know if you'd like to be a part of this.

Please mail me the following stuff:
*your name
*what you want to do
*a basic idea of what it will look/sound like
*how much space or time it will take up
*any materials/equipment you'd be willing to lend for the event
*and any other things you think are important
